QUESTION: OL, when is it going to stop? Seriously! Every day gas goes up at least 20 cents or more. I’m starting to panic the closer it gets to $5 a gallon.
I stopped by our little electric car dealership today and took a look at what they had. …
How are you all dealing with this mess? Any thoughts of changing your cars?

RESPONSES:
— I would definitely get another vehicle if I could, but because of my daughter being in a wheelchair, the transportation we currently have is the only thing available to us. Luckily I didn’t get a big van when we purchased our accessible van. We have a Chrysler Town & Country so it is nice to drive and decent on the mileage. The electric cars and other options do sound so appealing. I think the prices of those will go up soon. The demand will make it happen.
— I am trying to ride my bike, walk, or run to places more. We all get out of the house, get our errands done, and get some exercise. My goal is to drive no more than 3 times a week and use alternative transportation the other days.
— When I lived in the Bay Area instead of buying a used clunker of a car i bought a new scooter. i love it! the wind cool against your skin, the feeling of being totally bad a$$, and the 1 gallon fill up, you can’t beat that.
— The gas prices are killing me! I used to drive a Ford Focus but since my daughter was born, I’ve been driving my husbands Dodge Ram 1500. It’s fabulous being in that monster of a vehicle because I feel safe driving it with my daughter in the back but when it comes to filling up at the gas station, I die a little inside each time I see the pump shut off at $75. And that’s not even a full tank! That’s just as far as the pump would let me go! I’m trying my best to make sure I can do all my errands in one trip on one day. It cuts down on the mileage when I’ve got my route planned out but spontaneous shopping trips have gone out the window! I would love to putt-putt around on a scooter but it wouldn’t really work with a car seat. Ugh …
