QUESTION: Help! I need any advice you might have for traveling on an airplane for five hours with my 11-month-old daughter.

RESPONSES:
“While you are waiting to board the plane, keep her very busy. Wear the little angel out. Play with her, tickle her, let her run, walk, crawl back and forth a million times, anything that will make her totally tired. Do not — I repeat — do not nurse her while you are waiting. Save it for the plane. … Immediately befriend the passengers next to you, and be nice. Very nice. If mia can turn on her charm at that point too to win them over, you’ll be gold. Have all of your baby ammunition at your fingertips, for instant distractions/satisfaction. Learn to change her pants while sitting in a cramped seat, just to be safe (unless it’s a blowout).”
“Pack: Snacks, Boppy or nursing pillow (I didn’t figure this out until my second kid, you’ll have a place to put your elbow and everyone will be more comfortable), Tylenol (just in case she has ear issues), extra clothes.”
“Gate-check your stroller … allows for extra places to ‘store’ your carry-ons while chasing your child in the terminal.”
