Did you go to summer camp as a girl? Ever wish you could go? Here is your chance to become a kid again and enjoy a fun summer getaway at Camp Whitewood June 12-14. A women’s retreat that has been in existence for almost 70 years, Weekend at Whitewood invites ladies 18 years of age and older to attend.
South of the Border is this year’s spicy theme. Salsa making and food preservation, cabin piñata contest and skits, rain gardens, campfire cooking, massages and an Amish community tour are just some of the fun activities being planned. The following craft sessions will be offered: garden stepping stones, card making, knitted helmet liners and scarves, felt needle books, natural skincare recipes, and much more as crafters are confirmed. The weekend also features a fund-raising gift basket raffle and Chinese auction.
All meals, snacks, cabin lodging and most programs are included in the $110 camp fee. An additional overnight stay June 11 with breakfast is available for $21. Women may also sample the weekend on June 13 for $35 (includes three meals).
