Got butterbeer?
Harry Potter fans are all abuzz about butterbeer, and they’ve got the foamy mustaches to prove it.
The cold and creamy, frothy drink is the most popular food item at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, according to Universal spokesman Tom Schroder, with visitors lining up to try it.
“Then they would walk around and have this mustache on,” said Sabrina Sampson, 11, of Richmond, Va., who described the drink as tasting “like cream soda. It was somewhat thick, and it was really sweet, and then it got salty as you swallowed it, like butterscotch.”
Schroder said that about half the visitors to The Wizarding World sample...

She’s clutching her toddler’s hand with phone pressed to her ear or finger-scrolling through e-mail while carrying too many packages. Now, she doesn’t have to worry about carrying her fab, fashionable handbag, too.
The crossbody bag, sporting a long strap and worn across the body, is suddenly everywhere. The bags are practical, stylish and with offerings at every price from two digits to four, highly accessible.
“The business is definitely on fire right now,” says Brooke Scott, fashion director of handbags and accessories at Bloomingdale’s.
“Everybody needs to be hands-free,” she says. “We’re all girls on the go, trying to juggle a lot of different things....

CINCINNATI — The Procter & Gamble Co. is aiming to make disposable diapers fashionable.
Popular designer Cynthia Rowley has designed 11 styles of Pampers, including pastels, stripes, madras and ruffles. P&G says they’ll be offered in Target Corp. stores beginning in mid-July.
Jodi Allen, a P&G baby care vice president, says in a statement Wednesday that diaper performance comes first, but parents consider the look important, too.
Pampers is the No. 1 worldwide brand in sales for the Cincinnati-based consumer products maker that also has Tide detergent, Crest toothpaste and other brands.
Dallas-based competitor Kimberly-Clark Corp. last month launched U.S. sales of Huggies Jeans Diapers, giving babies’ bottoms a denim style for the...

It’s summer, that wonderful time of year when the kids are out of school and you can enjoy lots and lots of quality time with them.
Personally, I love being with my kids 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I mostly work at home these days, so I don’t have to miss a single opportunity for sharing family bliss.
It’s fun to listen to the bickering first thing in the morning over who used up all the hot water in the shower.
It’s fun to have them come flop on the couch at 10 a.m., asking to watch TV because “it’s hot outside and we’re tired.”
It’s even more fun to walk into the kitchen after a few hours of work, to discover that it looks like little...

Mysterious deaths of babies during sleep have been recorded since antiquity.
But the term sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS, wasn’t coined until the 1960s when it was declared a medical disorder. Some facts about SIDS:
What is SIDS?
Often called “crib death,” SIDS is the sudden death of an infant under age 1 that remains unexplained after a thorough investigation, including autopsy, examination of the death scene and review of the medical history.
How is it diagnosed?
SIDS is a diagnosis of exclusion. An autopsy is used to rule out other medical causes. Authorities rely on a death scene investigation to provide evidence of causes, such as...

These are the two most influential people in my husband’s life: his younger brother Max and his father Isaac.
Isaac passed away three years ago, the result of complications during a surgery. He’d been ill, had had cancer, had beaten it, had had liver damage, had beaten it … he’d been a fighter. He was nearly dead seven years ago … and then, miraculously, he was at the hospital after I gave birth to my youngest daughter a year later. He was loud, told it like it was, loved his kids and grandkids so fiercely. My husband and his brother Max lived by his “rules of life,” written on a piece of paper in the entry of his home, which included such simple lessons as don’t cheat, don’t...

Do you sleep with your baby?
For millions of parents, the answer is yes.
Bed-sharing between infants and adults is common in much of the world.
And it’s on the rise in the United States, as breast-feeding has become more prevalent in recent years.
But studies show the practice of adults and babies sleeping together can increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome or asphyxiation.
Babies can suffocate accidentally in excessive bedding or when parents roll over on them without realizing it. Bed-sharing is especially dangerous if parents have been smoking, drinking alcohol or taking drugs that impair judgment or reaction time.
That’s why, in 2005, the...
