For retailers and shoppers alike, Black Friday is serious business. Last year, more than 140 million shoppers hit the stores the day after Thanksgiving, with some 50 million already pushing shopping carts by 6 a.m., according to the National Retail Federation.

We all “know” leaving the kids at home is the best option but unfortunately, often times it just isn’t the reality … What if you can’t afford a sitter this year, you’re a single mom or the hubby wants to sleep in and watch the game (like most of us!)?

So, if you have to tote the tot you may as well make it as enjoyable as possible, which is why you should check out these two items:

Shopping Cart Cover ($29.99, www.brightstarts.com)

Both mom and baby can enjoy a shopping day with Bright Starts 3-in-1 Cozy Cart Cover, its animals and trees decor keeps the baby engaged and learning while mom is able to get the shopping complete. Provides 360 degrees of protection for your little one! The Comfort & Harmony Cozy Cart Cover is made of plush, padded fabrics for supreme comfort while protecting baby from germs in shopping carts or restaurant high chairs.

Features:

  • 3 storage pockets for stashing essentials while on-the-go
  • Sewn in loops for attaching baby’s favorite toys

hi, here’s another good product that mom can eat, too! not sure if you have heard of Sprout Baby Food, but they were co-founded by chef Tyler Florence (so the food is amazing), all organic and the pouch is BPA-free. it has a zipper to store food for later in the fridge/w/icepack, and the ingredients are all organic. I also use terracycle.net to send the pouches in for free to make the packaging into other products so they don’t go in the garbage.

Their starter and intermediate foods don’t have fruit combined with vegetables, so babies can taste them separately. Also, they just launched their advanced meals – balanced meals you will love for on the go, just bring a spoon. you can get them on Diapers.com or Amazon, or Strongsville’s Walmart.
