About 6,700 Meijer Touch Point oscillating ceramic heaters have been recalled.

The oscillating mechanism in the heaters can short out, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Meijer has received two reports of incidents involving fires that resulted in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

The heaters were sold at Meijer stores in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio from October 2009 through October 2010.

Details: On the web at www.cpsc.gov.

  1. Phil Said,

I checked out the heater on the CPSC web site and the photo of the heater looks ‘just like’ the one I bought 2 months ago at Dollar General.

Shape is the same and controls are in the same locations, even the indicator lite on the front. Only difference is the label which has been relabeled with with a caution warning and the bottom has a label from True Living, made in China, Model number QGW15-446A, Item: A14B1051.
